Who is Garbageman’s Daughter? I am a woman who throughout the day wears many hats, goes by many titles and gets called a lot of names. Here are a few of my favorite roles that partly define who I am.

Wife: I have been committed to the same man for more than 18 years. We have been married for 16 years and prior to that lived in sin awhile. We kept that secret from my parents by maintaining two phone lines in our tiny one bedroom apartment. My parents still don’t know, so please don’t tell them.

Mother: I have given birth to and raise four amazing children. They give me reasons to laugh, smile, love, vacuum and do laundry.

Librarian: I am not much of a shusher but I am known for my tight buns.

Writer: I have been writing since I have been about seven-years-old and have an absolutely unremarkable list of publishing credits in many small newspapers and magazines in three different states.

Hardcore Prince Fan: I discovered Prince when I was nine-years-old. I empathized with his misfit freakiness and I have been a devoted fan ever since I heard “Delirious” for the first time.

A Real Garbageman’s Daughter: My grandfather started his own garbage business in a tiny town more than 60 years ago, and now it is owned and managed by my dad and brother.
